I guess I am a newbie, have not done any Bass fishing since I lived in FL 20 years ago. Bought a Nitro NX750 not long ago as I really wanted to get back into fishing.
Anyone in the Derry area that would not mind giving a newbie some advice or go on the lake with me, would be great.
Thanks,
Hans |

Hi Hans,
Welcome. Sorry there is not very much activity here yet. I'm sure as time goes on more people will be around.

I was alone and scared there for a little bit I check in every day and have gotten out on Massabesic a lot since the first post.
I have found a few bass and some nice spots. My wife got her first bass ever last Thurs.
If I can't find bass, I dig out the cane pole and hunt Bluegill. Been having a ball with the boat and getting back into fishing.
I'm in Japan right now working, but will be back on the 13th and on the water the 14th and 15th!
Hope to see more posts here and meet some fellow NH bassers. Would also like to find a club in the area.
Here's a pic of my boat.
Hans

Hi Hans,
Japan.... yikes.
NHBasser has been online sinse sometime in '96/'97
Unfortunitely I neglected it for a while and the lost a fairly active forum and lots of frequent visitors. I've recently started to try and revive the site.
If you haven't found it, http://www.nesportsman.com is quite popular. I just hate the forum format they have going. Hopefully some will visit here and help get this forum up and rolling.
Massabesic is nice place, be surprised if you couldn't find bass most times.
There are so many great fisheries in NH so you should find yourself thoroughly addicted in no time.
Cya!

I'm used to being the first or one of the few. A few years ago I was the only member of a Scale R/C airplane site. It now has over 3000 members.
Fishing NH is almost like back home in FL. The fish are not as large, but there are plenty of them.
Good story about last time out. I had a Gulp punkinseed turtle back worm on fishing shallows. I kept getting light bites and not hooksets. Started to get a bit bummed and decided to drift in and see if I could see the fish. Well, I dropped the worm right in front of the boat and about 20 bluegills started fighting over it. I left it just sitting there and they ate pretty much the whole worm a little at a time. I have never seen that happen on a plastic worm, so I guess the ads are ture.
Aslo had a nice bite that felt like a monster. Two big hard taps that almost shook me up, and then nothing. Sure would have liked to hook onto that one again. Again it was on a Gulp worm.
Man I can't wait to get home and on the lake!!!!!
I'm very glad to see a site just for NH and I bet it will grow. If I can help spread the word or anything else, just let me know.

Have you tried using senko's yet? They're deadly. I prefer to texas rig them (less hang ups), but most fish them wacky rigged.
tubes have been pretty good for the smallies as well.
This is the time of year to spend nights on the water. black 7/16 oz single colorado blade spinner bait can give you some awesome rewards. You'd think you were back in florida as the average size jumps considerably. Man do they smash that thing... better hold on to your rod or you'll loose it, LOL
I'll be spending a week up at winni in two weeks. Usually kill 'em with the senko's and tubes. |

Rich,
Have not tried senkos yet, but sure will! I think a nice evening out on the lake with the Wife would be a lot of fun. I'll try it next Fri. as I have to get up for work at 4AM so weeknights would be tough.
Thanks for the tips and have a great week up at Winne.
